SW4A BASEBALL

Welcome to the home of SW4A
baseball.
Since its creation in 1969-70, the SW4A
has been
known as one of the premier baseball leagues in the state of North
Carolina. Over that 40 year span, SW4A
teams have
captured five state titles and have represented the league in the
finals 16
times.
Via realignments by the North Carolina
High School
Athletic Association, 22 schools have played in the SW4A and a 23rd
team will join the league in 2011. Nine of
those schools won west regional titles
while playing in the league to advance to the championship series where
five
current members have won the 4A crown.
Myers Park won the state championship in the first year of the league. Since then, charter members Independence (1984) and South Mecklenburg (1989) won titles. In 1990 Providence joined the conference and won a championship in 1995. Ardrey Kell, who entered the league in 2007, represented the SW4A in the finals in 2008 before winning the school’s first state championship in 2009.
In 2011, the SW4A welcomes Rocky River High School, one of the new schools opened by Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. Located in Mint Hill, the Ravens will recieve a large portion of their student population from fellow league members Butler and Independence.Your source for league information, schedules, standings; and live game action via webcasts of SW4A contests, we hope you enjoy the site and will check back often as you follow SW4A Baseball.
